How to create a short and sweet haircut style. Still can’t picture any hot look with a short haircut? Check out the following 10 tips!
Do remember about trims. Get trimmed every 4 to 6 weeks to keep the shape of your hair.
- Wash frequently. Your short hair won’t hide natural scalp oils as good as longer hair. Shampoo your hair on a daily basis to avoid the greasies.
- Use less conditioner. If your have very dry hair, dab conditioner just on the ends. Getting it on the scalp make hair look greasy. If your hair isn't dry, skip conditioner altogether.
- Add volume. If your hair is fine and thin, spritz a volumizer onto the roots of damp hair before blow-drying.
- Try texturizing products. Waxes and pastes give your short hair a young and modern look. Apply just a little to dry hair.
- Keep edges soft. Short cuts look best when they are softly layered, so tell your stylist to avoid blunt lines.
- Avoid long bouts with a blowdryer. Of course too much heat can damage your hair, making it dull and fuzzy. For short hair, that means disaster! Blowdry until hair is slightly damp, and then let it air-dry the rest of the way.
- Experiment with color. Short cuts can handle bold color that longer styles can't. Consult with your colorist about trying a bright red color, chunky blonde highlights, or a rich chocolate shade.
- Think high shine. Ultra-shiny short hair looks sexiest. Use a shine spray or cream on dry hair to boost gleam.
- Stock up on accessories. They're not just for long hair. Headbands, wraps, and small barrettes look great in cropped cuts, too.
